Interview by Pakistan Spectator-Candid Blog


Banda Aceh – Saat mulai membuat sebuah blog berita dengan tema Gaza News, sebagai sebuah ungkapan kemarahan atas kebiadaban pembantaian yahudi Israel di Gaza, ternyata cukup mengundang sejumlah pembaca dari berbagai penjuru dunia. Sampai saat ini traffic nya juga lumayan, sekitar 2000-3000 per hari. Sampai akhirnya, sebuah blog candid dari Pakistan tertarik untuk mewawancarai sang pemilik blog. Untuk hasil interview, dapat dilihat di blog Pakistan Spectator. Sebuah pengalaman menarik ketika kita dapat saling berbagi dengan dunia global tanpa batas. Selamat berkarya untuk blogger yang lain. Berikut adalah hasil interviewnya :

Would you please tell us something about you and your site?

I am 26 years old, stay in Darussalam, Banda Aceh-Indonesia, a university-level instructor by profession and as a volunteer for open source community.

My blog ‘Gaza News‘ is about to expose selected and updated news from Gaza city, Palestine. On my opinion, news about situation in gaza must be selected. we have to filter it before decided to believe that news. As we know, the world of media a considerable part held by Zionism Israel like Al Arabiya, New york times, BBC, CNN, Kompas and more. Other purpose, this is one of my way to fight Israel and US war crimes.

But It’s a shame, a part of country (especially muslim country around Palestine) can fall for and fooled by swindle Israel Zionism an US. In fact, If Islam country united, peace can be so easy and world in the hand of muslim country. In related about helping gaza people we can used any resources that we have.

Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?

Sure, its really important because with consistency everything can be done well and perfect. Although, i still learn writing, with writing we can change our life and other people life to be better. Usually, I write on my personal blog on Teuku Farhan Weblog but most still in Indonesian 🙂

I‘m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?

Every moments on my blog traffic and comment is my memorable experiences. When you see other people from around the world watch your blog, its amazing. Especially when i can keep contact, sharing and keep in touch with other people of all around the world. This interview experience is my memorable experience too 🙂

What do you do in order to keep up your communication with other bloggers?

Reply comment from readers, blogwalking and comment to readers blog or contact readers by email or messenger.

What do you think is the most exciting or most innovative use of technology in politics right now?

Weblog like wordpress and social networking website like facebook is one of them. Both is more personal because every one can made it and write everything they want, unlimited and blogger usually say only the truth. For now, blog is one of the reference for sharing data.

Do you think that these new technologies are effective in making people more responsive?

Absolutely yes.

What do you think sets Your site apart from others?

My blog concentrate to the last updated about gaza situation,and there is articles and photos too. Its can be apart from others.

If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?

Honesty, honesty can defeat cleverness,

What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

The happiest moment is when i decided to married when im 25 years old and bless by Allah first son when im 26 years old.

The gloomiest moments is when my father pass away in last 10 ramadhan 1998, when I’m 16 years old.

If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for – what would your top 3 choices be?


What is your favorite book and why?

“James Yee – For God And Country”, James yee is a brave muslim as a loyal US soldier and a victim of bush regime although he have a good military achievement and dedicated himself for god and US. I recommended this book for who want to know other side about Islam and how sadistic when bush regime lead US.

What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?

They smiles, true smile and a liar smile. We can see how honest they are.

Is there anyone from your past that once told you you couldn’t write?

At this time, no one. So far, my visitor or my friend never told me that i couldn’t write, although I’m still learn to write and I want to be a writer sometimes and make a book. Amin.

How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?

If the question is how, we can put advertisement in our blog, or put backlink to your publisher website, or to be a contributor, they are many method. But For me, networking is more important than financial needs, because financial is from networking, its a law of life. More friend we have, more money we get. Insyallah.

Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?

Not at all, I only update my blog 1-3 times a day about 1-3 hour/day, because my blog is news blog, i have to updated everyday. I agree to running a successful blog is a huge commitment and requires a hard work and concistently.

What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier and less hostile?

Bloggers, they are free of speech, but bloggers can control all speech on his blog, so its independently. Bloggers an agent of changes to the world caused taking initiative to bring human beings to life better and peace.

Who are your top five favourite bloggers?

I don’t have a top favourite bloggers, because each blog is unique. Mostly awesome and interesting. I found many blog when Im doing blog walking and find many unique story and useful. But, caused im considering to news about gaza and israel terrorism, i think a blog from a palestinian and now live in Gaza, Sameh Akram Habeeb is one of my top favourite bloggers. Although in war situation, he never stop posting from gaza. Carlos Latuff – A cartoonist from Brazil- is one of my favourite blogger too.

Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?

Untill now, Photos page give the most powerful reaction. Maybe, a pictures can tell a thousand story.

What is your perception about Pakistan and its people?

West media (some Arabic media too) majority give bad perception about Pakistan, but for me Pakistan is our brother, same likes other muslim country. One of great country who have kindly and polite people. I have 2 friends from pakistan. First, umair, he stay in Birmingham now. He is so kindly and lot give me inspiration and knowing better about Islam. Second, Mr. Kaleem Akhtar, he is a director of Human Concern International in Canada, he is a good muslim who always have a spirit to helping people of all around the world with his organization HCI.

Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?

I don’t know yet, maybe carlos latuff blog-the cartoonist for palestine- is one of them and I like very much about your idea to interview bloggers from all around the world.

What is the most striking difference between a developed country and a developing country?

developing country become a “slave” for developed country.

What is the future of blogging?

Technology run so fast. But blogging is one of amazing technology. Im sure blogging is going better for the future and there is no border again about information between other country and communicate with other people from other country more easy.

You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?

For my personal life, having a blog increase my confident and my paradigm. I feel free because i can share it to the world. For my professional life, its increase my blog skill, my language skill and my reputation in my office or my society.

What are your future plans?

Because, my prediction gaza crisis will be a long term crisis. I will keep focus to updated news about gaza and help in contact with a person or organization who want help gaza with they donation and the organization who helping people in gaza strip.

Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?

To readers of The Pakistani Spectator, Islam victory is very near and not longer become reality, west era is over, like or dislikes. Please to be united in Islam don’t separated. We all will die sometimes, soon or late and lonely in the grave. Prepare for your best works in this life for Islam not for money, not for family, not for kids, not for country or else. Except islam, all will extinct. And last, please Help our brother in Gaza, Palestine, they are suffered,hungry,scares all the night,wish your help every night. So, don’t just pray or talk, give some action like a donation or go to Gaza to help the victims of Israel “Zionism Jews” and Bush war crimes.
